test button that will run batteries down and make recharging impossible.

Regarding NiMH Rebuild *
I make my own NiMH clusters for these control packs. NiMH rebuilds come with a special charge
instructions. These cells can be quite sensitive to overcharging. Cells can be damaged or destroyed if left charging overnight with
the original Olympus charger. You could say the original Olympus Nicad Charger is "stupid" compared to modern NiMH chargers. It can't
tell when the pack is charged. For this reason, Olympus charger MUST be plugged into a timer which will shut it off after 14-16 hours
(for a FULL charge). After limited or light use, topping off the charge is safe but it must be limited and also timed.
"Top off" time is experimental and it is the responsibility of the end user to determine the best times for a full charge or
topping off. Camtech is not responsible for Control Pack damage that may occur due the charging cycle instituted by the
end user. No warranty on packs which are overcharged. Though the AA designation would suggest they are smaller than
the nicad 1/3A cells, these are almost identical in physical size. Thank you to Jim Baker for charging tips.

*The upside to NiMH cells are that they CAN be topped off without developing nicad-type memory effects. Topping off nicads
constantly creates a premature point at which the nicad appears to be dead or require charging again. Downside of NiMH is that
their self-discharge rate is slightly higher than nicad cells, and are sensitive to overcharging.
Olympus nicad pack converted to NiMH cells.
No "partial" repairs here, prices shown are for complete overhauls. All prices "...and up". Prices higher for fungus, impact, sand, water or tampering.
*The trick with recharging NiMH cells is that they have to be OVERCHARGED 50% to achieve FULL charge. 12 - 1/3AA - 300mah cells
in series . The Olympus charger is labeled as 36ma, but actually puts out about 30. 300 mah cells divided by 30 (charger)
= 10 hours. 50% overcharge equals 15 hours for full charge. NiMH pack should be topped off every 2 months if not used.
