Our Warranty

REPAIR WARRANTY: The standard Camtech warranty is 6 months on cameras and lenses, 90 days on electronic items. The Camtech repair warranty is voided if equipment is exposed to sand, impact, water, tampering or any other form of abuse. Camtech honors its repair warranties on equipment that has changed ownership DURING the warranty period (pending inspection of equipment). Redos are warranted for the time remaining on the original repair warranty. Camtech must receive cameras requiring rework while the original warranty is still in effect.

OM - 2S / 3 / 4 / PC repairs are covered by a limited warranty that does not include the main circuit. Circuits for these cameras are not available and therefore not warranted.

What if I need warranty Service ?
Cameras that fail during the warranty period MUST be received by Camtech within that time, (also known as the warranty period), for that camera to re-examined and repaired at no charge. Telling me about an defect by phone call or email does not in any way extend the warranty. A camera will be redone under warranty ONLY if it is received during the warranty period (or within a reasonable time, that being within 2 weeks of warranty expiring.) Example: one customer sent a repair back for warranty service 3 years after he told me about the defect by email. This would not be a warranty repair.

A redo or rework does not start a new 6 month warranty. Rework warranty is time remaining on original warranty or 30 days, whichever is greater.

Equipment that is returned to Camtech for rework during the warranty will be repaired (specific area of defect only) and returned to customer by Priority Mail at no further expense to the customer.

The warranty starts when the repair is shipped, plus about 5 days allotted for transit time within the US. The customer is responsible for using the equipment during the warranty. If the camera is put in a closet or drawer for 6 months, the warranty will pass by and expire. The warranty is entirely time based and is not affected by whether or not the camera equipment is used. Please use it! Used equipment sales warranted for 6 months except for electronic items (such as electronic flash or digital camera) which are warranted for 90 days.

Repairs left (or estimates not responded to) for more than 6 months will be considered abandoned and may be sold to recover costs.

Used items (mechanical film cameras and lenses) are warranted for 6 months. Electronic items (such as digital cameras, nicad packs, electronic flashes) are warranted for 90 days (no warranty on batteries).
