(Your OM-1/1n meter not working? Most likely, it is not due to bad cds cells. CDS cell replacement is generally done ONLY when meter is non linear (meter off different amounts at each light level) and all other known causes have been eliminated first. If meter is off the same amount over 3-4 calibrated light levels, THEN the CDS are good. No guarantee that after replacing cells yourself, that meter will be any better than it was. Though they look similar, these will not work in OM-2/2N. No warranty, returns, credits refunds on ANY repair parts)

BATTERIES AND BATTERY ADAPTERS

For OM-1/1N, or any camera that used to use the PX13 / 625 mercury battery (OM-1/1N, 35RC, 35RD, SP, SPn, Pen FT etc.) 386 Silver Oxide BATTERY NOT INCLUDED, listed separately below. Regular MS76, 357, SR44-W, G-13 are too thick.

386 Silver Oxide battery

for MR9.......$2.99* ea.

MR9 has a well on one side (which you can see in the spinning picture) that holds a 386 - 1.55V silver oxide battery. 386 battery is the only correct cell for the MR9. Diode (small black square inside well) steps the voltage down to 1.35V. IF your OM-1 meter is working and accurate (!!) in the first place, it will be as accurate when the MR9 is used. (FYI MS76, SR44, 357, G13, 303 etc. battery are too thick, battery cap will not screw down all the way). BTW, my OM-1/1N (Pen FT, 35RC, 35RD, 35SP etc.) overhaul builds equivalent MR9 schotkey diode into the meter circuit. In the case of an overhaul, the battery conversion is included in the overhaul, no adapter to buy or lose.

A NOTE REGARDING MR9 ACCURACY: IF your camera has already been modified or calibrated to the WRONG battery (i.e. 1.4v Weincell, 1.55v 625A or 625U alkaline battery), your meter will NOT be accurate when you install the MR9 adapter. The adapter cannot compensate for an improperly adjusted meter, it will not make an innacurate meter ACCURATE. Once an MR9 package is opened and used, it cannot be returned for refund BECAUSE IT IS USED PRODUCT AND CANNOT BE RESOLD AS NEW. The MR9 has no way of knowing if your meter is working properly. Your meter would need to be recalibrated to the (correct) power output of the MR9. The weincell voltage difference is only 0.05V but will cause an error of 1/3 to 1/2 stop. 625A and 625U are 1.55V, causing a 2 - 3 stop error. MR9 cannot compensate for these errors. It will also, of course, not bring a dead meter back to life.

Replacement NiMH battery cluster for M15V Nicad Control Pack 1 and 2 RSR

Part only, installation not included and REPAIR SKILLS ARE REQUIRED. Clusters assembled from single 1/3AA NiMH cells, which are rated at a higher capacity than the old nicad 1/3A cells. Nicad cells are very toxic and are very hard to find in this size unless I buy 1,000 at a time from a manufacturer in China. With the NiMH cluster, you will use your old Olympus charger (designed for use with nicad cells) on a mechanical timer. Nicads can be charged endlessly without problems. NiMH (nickel metal hydride) cells are sensitive to this and should not be be overcharged. Modern NiMH chargers are "smart" and sense when full charge is acheived and some automatically switch to trickle charge. Old Olympus nicad charger does not sense full charge and does not go to trickle. NiMH benefit is that they don't suffer from charging "memory" effects. No warranty on the NiMH cluster after you install it. Your old Olympus charger MUST be put on a timer of some sort that will turn the charger off after a full charge of 15 hours. NiMH cells must be overcharged 50% to reach full charge. Timer is absolutely essential. Your results may vary. Soldering and mechanical skills required. No refunds, exchanges, returns, or credits on any repair parts.
